Decorate with medical office wall art
Medical practices face stiffer competition these days than ever before. Alongside the professional care and treatment of patients, the appearance of the practice and waiting rooms in particular is becoming more and more important in the patients' perception and evaluation of the practice, especially since we are used these days to living in a highly-styled environment. But the employees working in medical practices, too, appreciate medical office wall decor as an enhancement of the working environment.

Dental office wall decor
The dental practice has the same requirements when it comes to wall art as medical practices. Here, too, the professionalism of the practice can be communicated with the first (image) impressions. However, as well as increasing employee satisfaction, dental office artwork has another, vital function: calming pictures can have a positive effect on the patients in the waiting room and can thus reduce the stress situation before treatment.
Medical wall art – what should you bear in mind?
Decorating the walls of your practice and waiting rooms can achieve various goals. As well as creating a pleasant working environment for your employees, the individuality of the practice and its perception amongst patients is enhanced. But there are other factors that make medical office wall decor so important:
You should pay attention to:
1. Your own photos or professional images?
You can of course hang your own photos or purchased images in the waiting room. We recommend photos with local motifs: A practice in the Black Forest shouldn't necessarily hang pictures of Hamburg or Sydney in the waiting room. Images with regional or local resonance signal and emphasise the mutual relationship of the patient, the practice and the region. If you don't have any suitable photos yourself to use as medical wall decor, you can commission a local photographer or select from our image database with over 1.5 million photos for the perfect waiting room wall art.
2. Calming images for medical practices!
A calming effect can be achieved through careful selection of image and colour scheme for your medical wall art. Recommended images are those with themes on nature, architecture, landscape with a local connection or abstract photography. Erotic or provocative motifs should be avoided. Black and white images are perceived as artistic, calming and profound.
If balck and white images are not a good fit for your practice, we recommend using discreet colours where possible. But a few colour highlights here and there are also possible.
3. Medical office wall decor: Watch out for fire hazard and hygiene regulations!
Depending on the size and field of activity of the practice, you might be subject to fire safety and hygiene regulations. Not every photo medium is suitable for use in a laboratory area, for example. Acrylic glass on the other hand can be easily disinfected. In a laboratory environment, a print on canvas is not recommended.
All image media are certified for fire safety classes B1 or B2 and can thus be used in areas with fire safety requirements. We recommend prints on canvas as waiting room wall art for example, whereas acrylic glass is the easiest to disinfect in the lab areas of a doctor's surgery.
4. Alu-Dibond or canvas wall decor for doctors office?
Acrylic glass, Alu-Dibond and canvas prints are the most popular media for medical office artwork. Depending on the motif and decor style, these materials can have a huge effect on the perception of the room. Whereas high-gloss acrylic glass is perceived as being very expensive but somewhat detached, a print on canvas can feel down-to-earth and trustworthy. Many patients will have images on canvas in their own living rooms. Alu-Dibond is the most popular material with professional photographers and is used for artistic photography in photo exhibitions. There is very little difference between the prices of the three most popular materials. NB: for Alu-Dibond and acrylic glass, additional hanging systems are required to use these as medical office wall art.
5. Waiting room wall art - How many pictures does a room need?
How many images you will need for a waiting room depends on several factors. Three factors in particular are essential to your decision: available wall space, size of image and desired density of artwork. Whereas a large panorama image is particularly suitable for the reception area, we recommend images sizes of at least 60 x 40 cm as waiting room wall art. We advise against miniature or small image formats: older people in particular will have difficulty seeing the detail in these.
